Our care

Chiropractic services

Each service starts with an exam. Your doctor explains what is involved, the risks and the cost before care begins.

  • Functional neurology exam

An exam of how your nervous system is working: balance, eye movement and how your neck moves. Your doctor explains what was found and what it does not tell us. We do not diagnose or treat concussion or brain injury. A physician does.

    • Balance and posture

    • Eye movement

    • Neck motion

    A clinician reviews a neck X-ray on a tablet with a stylus
  • Spinal adjustments

A hands-on adjustment of the spine, used when it fits and only if you agree. Your doctor explains the risks before the first one, and you can stop at any time. Adjusting the neck carries a rare risk of injury to an artery, which can lead to a stroke. If you have had a recent head or neck injury, we may leave neck adjustments out and send you to a physician first.

    • Done only with your consent

    • Risks explained first

  • X-rays, when they are needed

We take X-rays only when medically necessary, and your doctor tells you why before taking them. If you already have images from another provider, bring them or ask us to request them.

Your visits

From the first exam to your plan

  1. Close-up of a spine model with a red disc and yellow nerves
    01

    First visit

History, exam and a plain explanation of what we found. Plan on 45 to 60 minutes.

  2. A clipboard with a spine drawing on top of anatomy sketches
    02

    Your plan

If you agree, your doctor writes a plan: what we will do, when we will review it and what it costs.

  3. A practitioner rests her hands on the shoulders of a man bending forward to check his posture
    03

    Follow-up visits

Short visits for care, exercises and re-checks of balance, eye movement and neck motion.

  4. A man jogs along a tree-lined avenue in autumn
    04

    Moving on

As you improve, visits space out. We tell you when a visit is no longer needed, or when a physician should look again.

Not sure which service fits?

Call the front desk. We will tell you what a first visit covers and whether a physician should see you first.

  • A sudden severe headache or neck pain, dizziness, trouble speaking or seeing, new weakness or numbness, numbness in the groin or saddle area (between the legs and buttocks), or new bladder or bowel trouble needs emergency care now. Call 911 or go to an emergency room.
