What to expect at your first visit
Plan on 45 to 60 minutes. You will talk with your doctor about the fall or whiplash event and how you have felt since, have an exam of balance, eye movement and neck motion, hear what was found and what the options are, and decide what happens next. Treatment starts that day only if you agree.
Wear clothes you can move in
You stay dressed for the exam, and your doctor tells you before asking you to change anything.
Bring a photo ID
And your insurance card, if you have one. Bring any notes or images from other providers.
Ask anything
Questions about risks, cost and options are part of the visit.
Your choice at every step
You can say no to any part of care, or stop, at any time.

The visit in order
From the front desk to your plan
The same four steps for every new patient.
At the desk
You check in, and we confirm how you would like to pay. No paperwork about your health is needed in advance.
With your doctor
You talk about the event and how you have felt since. The doctor then checks balance, how your eyes follow a target and how your neck moves.
Your options
The doctor explains what was found, what it does and does not mean, the risks of each option and what each would cost.
Before you leave
If you agree to a plan, the doctor goes through it with you, and the front desk books your next visit.
Good to know
What the first visit is not
Knowing the edges of the visit helps you decide whether to come.
It is not a concussion exam
We do not diagnose or treat concussion or brain injury. If you may have hit your head, see a physician first.
It is not a promise
We do not promise a result or a number of visits. Your doctor sets a plan after the exam.
It does not start with X-rays
X-rays are taken only when medically necessary, and your doctor tells you why first.
